Art of Dance Studio presents dance as an art form, a path to physical fitness, a career path, and a way of life.

Art of Dance is an excellent foundation to to help youth grow in all areas of life and for adults to make physical fitness and artistic expression a way of life.  Our classes help build character, courage, determination, purpose, physical and psychological balance, and creativity.  Classes are available for girls and boys as young as age 3 to adult.  Introductory classes are offered at every level to allow new dancers to begin their own path toward their personal goals in dance.

Classes and Policies

Types of Classes
REGULAR – Students can enroll in regular dance classes to learn dance forms and basics. Each regular dance class will learn a specific dance to be showcased at our yearly spring dance recital. Participating in the dance recital is optional but highly encouraged. Dance recital participation requires an additional fee for the costume chosen by the studio.
PERFORMANCE – For those students that wish to take their skills to another level we offer the Performance groups which students are selected through an audition process. Auditions are held a couple times throughout the year. Members of this group will have to take technique classes and have to participate in summer performance events.
COMPETITION – For those students that wish to take their skills to another level and compete in recognized dance competitions they can audition to be part of our Competition group. Auditions are held a couple of times throughout the year. Members of this group will have to take technique classes and be available for scheduled events.
Dance Levels
Instructors will determine placement.
BASIC* – Students will begin building strength, developing proper alignment and a better understanding of basic dance elements.
INTERMEDIATE** – Students should have a solid understanding of dance terms, technique and steps. Strength and alignment continue to be stressed. Students will be expected to grasp concepts that are more difficult.
ADVANCED*** – Students are expected to be able to learn by watching, with less explanation than previously required. This class will move more quickly and is designed to develop and challenge the dancer.
Dress Code
CREATIVE DANCE & TUMBLING: dancers may wear black, pink or white leotards, tights and ballet slippers. NO JEWELRY. NO JEANS OR STREET CLOTHES.
JAZZ: dancers may wear jazz pants or leggings, spandex shorts, leotards, sports bra top or tight fitting T-shirt.

Please wear black split sole jazz shoes. Boys may wear T-shirts and sweats or warm-up pants. Hair must be up and out of face. NO JEWELRY. NO JEANS OR STREET CLOTHES
TAP: dancers may wear warm-up pants, leggings or shorts and T-shirts. NO JEANS OR STREET CLOTHES. Boys may wear T-shirts and sweats or warm-up pants. Hair must be up and out of face. NO JEWELRY.
BALLET: dancers may wear leotards, tights, tutus or unitard and ballet slippers. Hair must be up and out of face. NO JEWELRY.
HIP-HOP: dancers may wear sweats or sweat shorts, T-shirts and tennis shoes. Hair must be up and out of face. NO JEWELRY. NO JEANS OR STREET CLOTHES.
